Origin 7.5 and Windows Vista
In Origin 7.5, only Service Release 7 (SR7) will correctly accept Computer ID-based license files. To correctly license your Origin 7.5, please check your Origin 7.5 build by selecting Help: About Origin.
If the build is NOT 7.5886 (SR7 then please perform the following steps:
Close Origin 7.5.
Download the Origin 7.5 SR7 installation files from the OriginLab website and save the file to your computer's hard disk or to a networked drive.
If you have:
English Origin 7.5 (your serial number starts with "G" download Origin7.5Sr7.exe.
German Origin 7.5 (your serial number starts with "S" download Origin7.5GSr7.exe.
Japanese Origin 7.5 (your serial number starts with "L" download Origin7.5JSr7.exe.
Run the file you downloaded. Because Origin is already installed, you will see options to Modify, Remove or Repair. Select REPAIR and complete the Repair process, clicking Finish when done.
Restart your Origin 7.5. It is now at SR7.
You should see the License Information dialog box at Origin start-up. If not, please select Help: About Origin and click the License button to open this dialog box. Please use the License Information dialog box to obtain the license file from the OriginLab website. The license file you obtain WILL BE compatible with your Vista computer.
If you encounter any problems with this process, please contact OriginLab's licensing support team.
If the build IS 7.5886 (SR7 then the license file you obtain from the OriginLab website is Vista compatible.
