Одно но: не думаю, что в бесплатной проге оченьь уж хорошо реализована конверсия кадров, точнее, выбор палитры. Файл может получиться гораздо больше, чем при использовании коммерческой программы. Хотя, МБ, и меньше...

Кстати, изменить размер gif'а (я про высоту и ширину) можно с помщью
ImageMagick

А что делает эта команда coalesce?

Each image N in the sequence after Image 0 is replaced with the image created by flattening images 0 through N.
The set of images is terminated by the appearance of any option. If the -coalesce option appears after all of the input images,
all images are coalesced.
