у тебя почему то не установлены Windows installer 3.1 и update for BITS 2.0
В трее есть иконка windowsupdate? кликни на нее и установи эти обновления.
Если ты это уже делал, то покажи файлы KB893803.log и KB842773.log (где то в c:\windows должны лежать)

Я в принципе уже поставил Windows Installer 3.1 (WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe но с обновлениями та же самая ерунда: ни иконки в трее, ни возможности изменить способ обновлений ("Скачивать и уведомлять", "Уведомлять, потом скачивать", "Не скачивать" и пр.)
Я вообще хоть какие-то изменения должен здесь увидеть?..
Странно, у меня как раз win2kprosp4, и всё нормально обновляется.

не, а логи эти появились после твоей ручной установки, поэтому про автоматическое обновление не могу сказать ничего =)
попробуй подождать еще, если обновления не будут работать, переустанови виндоуз, может какие нибудь вирусы сломали тебе компьютер, и он теперь не хочет обновляться

Добрый день.Установил Win2K, добавил 4 сервис-пак, скачал, как положено, файлик wu.reg, импортировал в реестр...
В результате:
- Постоянно слышу звук запуска и закрытия программы (если отключить сервис automatic update — пропадает);
- Ни одного обновления системы за 4 дня (комп почти не выключал);
- В "Панели управления"/"Автоматические обновления" флажки для выбора недоступны — вообще ничего изменить нельзя;
- В первые два дня комп выдавал табличку о перезагрузке через 60 сек (вроде lsas вызывал). Проверил на sasser и msblast — ничего не обнаружено. Самолично поставил соответствующие заплатки (6 шт в общей сложности) — появились папки $uninst в c:\WinNT
Вопрос: "Почему комп не желает обновляться?"
